Choosing The Right System

When choosing the kit that's right for you, we offer either Single Coat or Two-Coat application systems. The difference being the overall thickness and durability of the final floor.
  • A Single Coat system typically delivers around 10 mils of cured epoxy, providing solid protection and a clean finish ideal for light to moderate use.
  • A Two-Coat system builds up to approximately 20 mils, offering enhanced durability, increased chemical and abrasion resistance, and a longer-lasting surfaceβ€”perfect for garages, workshops, or commercial spaces with heavier traffic or exposure.

Choosing Flake Coverage

Flake coverage refers to how much flake you would like on your floor and what look you're going for.
  • Choose a light covergae (Good Kit) for a subtle effect, perfect for adding a spash of color but without it being visually heavy.
  • Choose a medium coverage (Better or Better PLUS Kit) for a more spaced out flake, perfect for adding color to a space.
  • Choose a full coverage (Certified or Certified PLUS Kit) for a packed appearance with lots of texture and color. Great for high-traffic areas.

Choosing Thickness (mils or nominal)

The term "mil" is a unit of measurement used to describe coating thickness. This measurement helps specify how thick the applied coating will be once it cures.
Understanding mil thickness is important because it affects:
  • Durability and wear resistance
  • Chemical resistance
  • Overall performance and longevity of the floor
Thicker systems (higher mils) are generally used in areas with heavier traffic or exposure to harsh conditions.

Nominal 1/16" means the epoxy system is intended to be about 1/16 of an inch thick when applied.

So when a product spec says β€œnominal 1/16 inch”, it's indicating a general target thickness of around 62–65 mils, understanding that there may be small variances in the actual finished floor.

Choosing Warranty

The warranty of your floor is very important for us to ensure quality, that's why we offer:
